National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme The National wide Scheme{NMMSS} it was initiated in May, 2008. It is started by the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Scholarship of 12000INR per year per student is given to selected students every year to study in classes from 9th to 12th in State Government, Government aided schools. To avail this Scholorship the students parents should be earn less than 1,50,000INR. The state government conducts the examination to select the Students. The State bank of India credits Scholorship into the bank accounts of students on every 3 months.

The students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Residential Schools and Private Schools are not eligible for the scholarship under this scheme.
